I recently posted a Q&A with Tom Oliver from Oliver’s Cider OCLE PYCHARD, HEREFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND. You can read it here.  We know that great, some argue the best, cider is produced in West Country England.  I wanted to know a bit more about  British cider, specifically Herefordshire,  so I Googled away and found pretty much what I already know: the same thing over and over, a factual description of West Country cider.  But I wanted more stories and culture, and to feel like I am actually sitting in a Herefordshire pub. Harcourt – Perry and Cider Makers – Apple Cider

You know when great Harcourt cider minds like Drew Henry (Henry of Harcourt), Adam Marks (Bress) and Simon Frost (The Little Red Apple) get together, something special is bound to be made. This collective of highly regarded cider makers banded together to create Harcourt – Perry and Cider Makers. Harcourt is apple growing central, located an hour and a half North West of Melbourne, Victoria. The new cider venture utilizes eating apples and pears from Harcourt and is purposely made towards a more commercial styled cider. With the region currently experiencing tough times, the new cider and perry is bringing in precious revenue for the fruit which may have not been sold at all. Cider Review: Eve’s Cidery’s Autumn’s Gold

Today, I’m reviewing Eve’s Cidery’s Autumn Gold. Maybe because it is very warm right now and I’m craving anything other than hot hot summer. No matter my reason, Eve’s Cidery is another fabulous small cider producer in the Finger Lakes region of New York state. Can you tell how excited I am to move to the area? I first discovered them during New York City’s 2012 cider week, and again when I stumbled on their booth at the Union Square Farmer’s Market in New York City. The cider started in 2002. They have a great website. Here’s what they say about themselves, “Eve’s Cidery is a small family run orchard and cidery located in Van  Etten, in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. We grow apples and  other tree fruits and ferment artisanal ciders. We believe in nature,  art, good food and hard work. READ MORE
